Since October 7, 2023, the zionist military offensive on Gaza has not only resulted in the mass killing of civilians — including thousands of children — but has also systematically targeted journalists, silencing those who dared to document the horror. This article pays tribute to the reporters, photojournalists, and media workers who were murdered for their work, revealing how truth itself has become a casualty of war.
🎙️ Journalism Under Fire
From the very first week of the war, journalists in Gaza became targets. With communications blackouts, airstrikes on press offices, and no safe zones, Gaza became the most dangerous place in the world for journalists.
🕯️ As of August 2025, at least 148 Palestinian journalists have been killed, according to the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate.

🔥 Key Journalists Killed in the Line of Duty
🕊️ Mohammed Abu Hatab (Palestine TV)

Killed in an Israeli strike in Khan Younis minutes after a live report. His wife, son, and family members died alongside him.
🕊️ Rushdi Sarraj (Ain Media)

An award-winning filmmaker, Rushdi was one of Gaza’s leading visual storytellers. He was targeted in an airstrike on his home in October 2023.
🕊️ Hind Al-Khudary

A 27-year-old female journalist who documented Israeli airstrikes on residential areas. She was killed in a drone strike in northern Gaza.
🕊️ Ibrahim Lafi, Samar Abu Daqqa, Ismail Alghoul, and many more…
📷 Not just numbers: Every journalist killed in Gaza carried a camera, a pen, or a microphone to tell the world what was happening. Many died with their families, in their homes, without warning.
🚫 Deliberate Targeting of Media Infrastructure
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and Human Rights Watch have raised serious concerns about Israel’s intentional bombing of press offices, including:
- Al Jazeera’s local correspondents’ homes
- Press vests and vehicles clearly marked “PRESS” being hit by drones and sniper fire
- Entire press towers reduced to rubble, including Gaza’s Shorouk and Jalaa towers
🧾 These attacks may constitute war crimes under international law, according to Amnesty International and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
💬 Global Response & Hypocrisy
- Western governments have remained largely silent, despite these being targeted killings of journalists.
- Some media outlets like The Guardian, Le Monde, and Al Jazeera have launched investigations or tributes, but no sanctions or concrete actions have been taken against Israel.
- Social media companies like Meta and X have also suppressed Palestinian voices through content removal and shadowbanning.
🕊️ Why Their Work Must Live On
These journalists didn’t just document war — they documented injustice, resistance, and hope. In their memory, GazaKillers.com will continue to:
- Publish profiles of every media worker killed
- Archive their footage and writings
- Demand global accountability for war crimes against the press
🎗️ Journalism is not a crime. Telling the truth should not cost a life.
